Full RBT Practice Exam Structure

Once you complete the required 40 hours of RBT training and meeting all eligibility requirements, the next important step is passing the RBT exam. This test is the final stage in becoming an officially certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Without passing this exam, you won’t receive your official certification, even if your training is done.

If you’re getting ready for the RBT test, Note this exam format: You’ll have 90 minutes to answer 85 multiple-choice questions. Out of these, only 75 questions count toward your final score. The remaining 10 are pilot questions, which are being tested for future exams, they do not affect your score. The RBT exam is scored on a 0–250 scale, and you must score at least 200 to pass. The BACB sets this passing standard.

The test is organized into six main sections, and each one makes up a different part of the total exam.
